The members of Team Newfoundland and Labrador’s mission staff for the 2022 Canada Summer Games were announced today. The Canada Summer Games will be held from August 6 – 21, 2022 in Niagara, Ontario.
Under the leadership of Chef de Mission Gary Martin and Assistant Chefs de Mission Tom Godden and Brenda Congram, sixteen mission staff members will participate:
- Allison Sturge, Portugal Cove-St. Phillips;
- Bob Godden, St. John’s;
- Deidre Patey, Clarenville;
- Ed Flood, Corner Brook;
- Ellis Coles, Paradise;
- Eric Humber, St. John’s;
- Jamie Randell, Clarenville;
- Jamie Tobin, Paradise;
- Janice Turner, Corner Brook;
- Laura Pottle-Hayley, St. John’s;
- Leon Organ, St. John’s;
- Melissa Blackler, Twillingate;
- Mike Summers, Torbay;
- Nicole Moores, St. John’s;
- Rosie Stanoev, St. John’s; and
- Seamus O’Keefe, St. John’s.
Approximately 400 athletes, coaches and managers will represent Team Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2022 Canada Summer Games. The Games are held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, with Newfoundland and Labrador participating since its inception in 1967.
The application process is now open for the 2023 Canada Winter Games mission staff. The Canada Winter Games are being held from February 18 – March 5, 2023 in Prince Edward Island. The application is available here. The deadline for applications is October 29, 2021.
