The Labour Standards Regulations currently stipulate that, on April 1 of each year, the minimum wage shall change based on the percentage increase to the National Consumer Price Index. On April 1, 2024, the increase will bring the minimum wage in Newfoundland and Labrador to $15.60 per hour.

This process provides the opportunity for the public, as well as employers, labour and government departments, to voice their concerns and present any pertinent commentary to help inform the review. Public engagement on this important issue helps to ensure the minimum wage rate adjustment process is relevant and responsive to the needs of the people in Newfoundland and Labrador. I encourage all interested parties to participate in this process.”

Minister Responsible for Labour
