The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking expressions of interest from people who want to serve on the Information and Communication Standard Development Committee.
Accessibility standards set legal requirements to identify, prevent and remove barriers for persons with disabilities. This committee, established by the Accessibility Standards Advisory Board, will provide expert advice and lived experience to help inform recommendations to the Minister.
The committee will focus on improving access to information and communication across digital and non-digital formats, service delivery, and materials used across sectors, ensuring information is easy to find and understand, and is accessible to everyone.
Up to nine members will be appointed, with at least half being persons with disabilities. Members will bring experience from areas such as accessibility, information technology or digital services, business or industry, policy or program development, or government and public bodies.
Application details and supporting materials are available on the Disability Policy Office webpage. Submissions are accepted until June 1, 2026.
You can also call toll-free 1-888-729-6279; text 709-725-4463; or email disabilitypolicy@gov.nl.ca. Video Relay Service calls are welcome and applications are available in alternate formats.
