Project Description:

The proponent proposes to construct and operate an abattoir to process their own livestock at their existing 40-hectare sheep farm. The farm is located on Shute Lane in Port Kirwan, on the Avalon Peninsula. Construction will include the installation of water and septic services.

• August 18, 2021 – The undertaking was registered.
• September 23, 2021 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 2, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 18, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• October 22, 2021 – The Minister announced the project is released.
• June 9, 2022 – Waste Management Plan approved.
