Policy and Planning Section is part of the Policy, Planning and Natural Areas Division, which is responsible for the development of provincial policy and strategic planning initiatives related to the environment, conservation and climate change.
The Policy and Planning Section is responsible for:
- Development and coordination of departmental and corporate planning initiatives, including compliance with the Transparency and Accountability Act.
- Research, evaluation and analysis of program, policy and legislative matters.
- Coordination, review, and compilation of policy and briefing materials for the Minister and Executive.
- Coordination and management of the Department’s information management program.
The Natural Areas Program, also within the Policy, Planning and Natural Areas Division, is responsible for administration of the Wilderness and Ecological Reserves Act. For more information on the Natural Areas Program, please visit: www.gov.nl.ca/naturalareas.
