Mandate

The Policy and Strategic Planning Division is responsible for the development of Provincial policy and strategic planning initiatives which aides the Department in realizing its vision of communities with viable sustainable municipal services led by strong local governments.

Programs & Services

This Division is accountable for:

• Development and coordination of departmental and corporate planning initiatives, including compliance with the Transparency and Accountability Act.
• Research, evaluation and analysis of program, policy and legislative matters.
• Coordination, review, and compilation of policy and briefing materials for the Minister and Executive.
• Coordination and management of the Department’s municipal information management system.
