Project Description:
The proponent is planning to construct a 150-metre rubble breakwater along the shoreline at Point au Gaul as an extension to the existing breakwater. The new breakwater will be 17 metres wide at its widest area. The breakwater is intended to mitigate the risk of flooding to nearby homes and properties and to stabilize the eroding shoreline.
- October 30, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
- December 7, 2018 – Deadline for public comments.
- December 14, 2018 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
- December 20, 2018 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
- October 10, 2019 – Environmental Protection Plan approved.
