Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to construct and operate a biomedical waste transfer and treatment facility at an existing building at 45 Clyde Avenue, Mount Pearl. This facility will remove, treat, and dispose of the biomedical waste collected in the province. Waste requiring disposal by incineration will be held in a refrigeration unit inside a warehouse until shipped to the proponent’s existing Ontario facility. Waste that can be treated onsite will be autoclaved and sent to Robin Hood Bay Facility for final disposal.
- December 3, 2018 – The undertaking was registered.
- January 9, 2019 – Deadline for public comments.
- January 17, 2019 – The Minister’s Decision is due.
- January 21, 2019 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
