Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to establish a beef cattle industry near Cavendish, Trinity Bay. The initial herd size will be 26 animals with an eventual expansion to 100. This operation will be complementary to the proponent’s existing mink farm operations, but will also require an additional 117 hectares of Crown land. Development will consist of clearing, seeding and fertilizing land for grazing and forage production.

- September 28, 2019 – Deadline for Public Comments on Draft EIS Guidelines

- May 13, 2022 – Deadline for public comment on the EIS.
- June 2, 2022 – The Minister’s decision on the EIS is due.

- August 12, 2022 – The Minister’s decision on the EIS is due (extended).
- August 10, 2022 – The Minister determined the EIS was acceptable.
- September 29, 2022 – The Minister announced that the project is released with conditions.
