Project Description:

The proponent has submitted a proposal for a Five-Year Operating Plan for Zone 3 consisting of Forest Management Districts 5 (Bonavista North) and 6 (Glenwood). Occupying an area generally from Central Newfoundland between Seal Bay in the northwest, easterly to New-Wes-Valley in the northeast, southerly to Terra Nova National Park in the east and west to the Bay D’Espoir Highway near Great Gull Lake. The plan describes timber harvesting operations, construction of access roads and silviculture activities. The plan covers the period from January 1, 2022 to December 31, 2026.

• June 30, 2021 – The undertaking was registered.
• August 6, 2021 – Deadline for public comments.
• August 14, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 8, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• October 22, 2021 – The Minister announced the project is released.
• June 3, 2022 – The Minister announced report approved.
