Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to renovate the former fish plant to process seal oil in Tors Cove. The facility will be used to make omega-3 oil and produce nutraceuticals for the food industry. Renovations will be made to the former facility to operate the seal processing plant.

• July 14, 2021 – The undertaking was registered.
• August 20, 2021 – Deadline for public comments.
• August 28, 2021 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• September 10, 2021 – Environmental Preview Report (EPR) required.
• September 22, 2021 – Environmental Assessment Committee Appointed.
• November 4, 2021 – EPR Guidelines issued.
• March 30, 2022 – EPR submitted for review.
• May 6, 2022 – Deadline for public comments on the EPR.
• May 14, 2022 – The Minister’s decision on the EPR is due.
• May 28, 2022 – The Minister’s decision on the EPR is due (extended).
• June 11, 2022 – The Minister’s decision on the EPR is due (extended).
• June 9, 2022 – The Minister announced the project is released.
