Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to construct a natural gas liquefaction facility and marine export terminal at Grassy Point, Arnold’s Cove. The undertaking would provide facilities to receive natural gas produced in an offshore central gas hub in the Jeanne d’Arc Basin and transported to Grassy Point via subsea pipeline. The project would involve the construction and operation of facilities at Grassy Point to meter and receive natural gas, liquefaction facilities on a floating liquefied natural gas vessel, a wharf with three jetties and berthing capabilities for liquefied natural gas (LNG) takers up to 265,000 m3, storage tanks for condensate and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) liquids, and supporting infrastructure including an access road, office facilities and security fencing.

  • February 4, 2022 – The Minister announced that an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is required.
  • February 4, 2022 – Environmental Assessment Committee appointed.
