Project Description:

The proponent is proposing a 4.94 ha Quarry located 2 km east of the town of Terra Nova to produce blending sand products for use in the construction industry. The development will include vegetation clearing, grubbing and stockpiling of material on site. The operation will consist of extracting and screening and stockpiling material and is scheduled to begin in spring 2022.

• January 12, 2022 – The undertaking was registered.
• February 16, 2022 – Deadline for public comments.
• February 26, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• March 12, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• March 30, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extended).
• March 25, 2022 – The Minister announced that the project is released.
• August 30, 2023 – Water Resources Management Plan accepted.
