Summary of Environmental Assessment Process

Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to conduct mineral exploration in the form of a seismic survey and trenching. The seismic survey would be completed over an area of 48 square kilometres, while the trenching would have a total exposed area of less than 8000 square metres. The activity would include 269 kilometres of line cutting, with gridlines of 1.75 – 2.75 metres in width to allow for access of vehicles to complete the seismic survey. The proposed trench would be 210 metres long and 10-70 metres wide, with a total estimated volume of 40,000 cubic metres of material removed.

• September 22, 2022 – Deadline for public comments.
• October 2, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due.
• October 14, 2022 – The Minister’s decision is due (extension)
• October 19, 2022 – The Minister determined the project is released.
