The on-site training component of the OETC Section provides a unique approach to operator training and is the first of its kind in Canada. Through the use of 3 Mobile Training Units (MTUs), equipped with various water system tools and appurtenances, operators are trained in their own community without having to compromise their operating water systems. On-site training sessions are scheduled individually based on current curriculum or operator demand.
Mobile Training Units (MTUs)
The MTUs were specifically designed to bring total mobility to the on-site training program and increase the program’s accessibility for operators. These specialized training vehicles are equipped with a variety of tools and equipment common to municipal drinking water system operations.
On-site Training Curriculum
The curriculum utilized for on-site training incorporates several sessions that were developed to response to the training needs of municipal operators. The intention of this program is to train new operators and to enhance and upgrade the skills of experienced operators.
