Project Description:

The proponent is proposing to develop and operate an 8.62‑hectare extension to an existing quarry, located south of the Trans‑Canada Highway and approximately 3 km west of Whitbourne. The expansion would supply essential aggregate materials for provincial highway construction, upgrades, and maintenance. The work would also support the proponent’s projects across eastern Newfoundland, including future work along the Trans‑Canada Highway.

• March 12, 2026 – The undertaking was registered.
• April 17, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
• April 26, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
