Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to develop and operate a 12‑hectare extension to an existing sand and gravel quarry located along Route 364 on the south coast of Newfoundland near the Furby’s Cove interchange. The proposed expansion would enable continued extraction of aggregate resources to support provincial highway construction, upgrades, maintenance, and winter sand applications. The expansion is intended to help meet regional demand for high‑quality quarry materials and support transportation infrastructure projects across the province.

- July 24, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
- August 2, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
