Project Description:
The proponent is proposing to develop a marine residual material processing facility adjacent to its existing crab and salmon processing operations at 6 Wharf Road in Bay de Verde. The project would convert crab, salmon, and other finfish residual materials currently disposed of at sea or in landfills into fish oil, dried meals and other solids for use in aquaculture feed, pet food and for human consumption.
Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2026, with commissioning and full operation expected in 2027. The project is expected to create eight to 10 full-time positions.
- March 27, 2026 – The undertaking was registered.
- May 1, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
- May 11, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
