Medical Transportation Assistance Program (MTAP)
If you need to travel for specialized insured medical services that are not available in your area, you may be eligible for financial help through MTAP, including:
- Economy airfare and related taxi fares
- Private vehicle mileage
- Bus and ferry travel
- Accommodations (private or commercial)
- Meals (per diem)

Step 1: How MTAP works
To determine if you and your escort are eligible for MTAP assistance, please review the following important reference material:

Step 2: Additional support (Hope Air)
As part of a pilot initiative, MTAP has partnered with Hope Air. Eligible families with a total annual household income of $70,000 or less may apply directly to Hope Air for upfront travel assistance.

- Complete the correct claim form
- Attach all supporting documentation and required receipts for eligible expenses
