The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment is considering amending the Trans-Canada Highway (Channel-Port aux Basques to Corner Brook) Protected Road Zoning Plan to recognize existing cabins and accommodate proposed cottage development on an existing access road. In accordance with section 14 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, public consultation is required when amending a provincial protected road zoning plan to solicit input from interested persons, community groups and other stakeholders.
The purpose of the amendment is to rezone land on the west side of the Trans-Canada Highway, south of the intersection with Route 404, adjacent to Robinsons River, from “Rural Conservation” to “Cottage”.
Please see the draft amendment and the Google Earth file for locational reference.
