Vehicle History Reports

It is the dealers responsibility to provide a copy of the vehicle history report when selling a previously owned/used vehicle.

Typically a vehicle history report is an online paid service. A VIN check, also online, is typically a free service. But what is the difference and can I provide a VIN check instead?  No, a vehicle history report would give the buyer full disclosure to this vehicles history whereas a VIN check does not.

VIN Check

Only provides basic information based on the VIN including:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • and other details about the manufactured vehicle
