Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program

2026-27 Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program

The Newfoundland and Labrador Community Transportation Program supports accessible and inclusive transportation services in communities and regions across the province. These services help residents get to work, school, and medical appointments; run errands; attend social activities; and visit family and friends.

Funding is available through two streams:

  1. Planning Projects: Up to $10,000 to support the planning or design of a new or expanded community transportation service.
  2. Capital Projects: Up to $100,000 to support the purchase of capital assets needed to operate a community transportation service.

Eligibility

Applicants are encouraged to work with nearby communities and consider regional approaches. Eligible applicants are:

  • municipal governments;
  • Indigenous Governing Bodies; and
  • provincially incorporated not-for-profit organizations.

Provincially incorporated not-for-profit organizations must be in good standing with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Individuals and federal entities are not eligible to apply.

For-profit organizations are not normally eligible to apply directly and must contact the Department before applying.
