  • The top three types of applicants requesting access to information are political parties at 41%, individuals at 19% and the media at 15%. These figures represent general requests received by departments.
  • 96% of requests were responded to within the legislative timelines.

Total Access Requests Received

  • 56% of requests were received by departments and 44% were received by other public bodies.
  • 83% of requests were general access requests while 17% were personal information requests.
  • During the 2013-14 fiscal year 553 requests were received while 757 were received in the 2014-15 fiscal year.
  • Of the 757 requests received in 2014-15, departments received 388 general requests and 41 personal information requests. Other public bodies received 240 general requests and 88 personal information requests.

Final outcome of Requests

These figures represent general requests received by departments.

  • 130 requests resulted in partial disclosure
  • 124 requests resulted in full disclosure
  • 80 requests were for records that do not exist
  • 21 requests were withdrawn
  • 14 requests were abandoned by the applicant
  • 6 requests were for records that would be publicly available and
  • 3 requests were disregarded. This includes requests that are repetitive or systematic, frivolous or vexatious or made in bad faith or trivial.

Departments that Received Most Requests

These figures represent general requests received by departments.

  • Environment and Conservation received 40 requests.
  • Health and Community Services received 50 requests.
  • Fisheries and Aquaculture received 55 requests.
