Grants to Youth Organizations 2026-2027
Grants to Youth Organizations (GTYO) provide special project funding to not-for-profit youth-serving organizations operating in Newfoundland and Labrador. The goal of GTYO is to provide funding towards innovative projects delivered by youth-serving organizations that create opportunities for skill development, mentorship, and social inclusion for youth in Newfoundland and Labrador between the ages of 12-29. The goal of GTYO is to fund projects between September and March of the fiscal year.
Note: The GTYO application has undergone changes; please review the application and website carefully.
The deadline for 2026-27 applications is July 10, 2026.
Evaluation Guidelines
Projects are evaluated based on how well they meet the following six criteria:
- Strengthen youth skills, confidence and leadership abilities, assisting with a successful transition to adulthood;
- Enable meaningful youth participation and contribution to community life;
- Advance inclusion and accessibility to ensure equitable participation for all youth;
- Address clearly unmet needs or barriers for youth;
- Foster intergenerational and community relationships that build mutual understanding; and

Applications are assessed by an internal cross-departmental selection committee that will also consider:
- The number of youth served;
- Innovation of the proposal; and
- Alignment with regional needs.
In addition to the core evaluation criteria above, the review committee may give special consideration to projects that:
