Extrajudicial Sanctions

Extrajudicial Sanctions (also known as Alternative Measures) are formalized programs providing a direct alternative to formal judicial proceedings for young people (between their 12th and 18th birthday) who are alleged to have committed an eligible offence. These programs are community-based and operated by volunteer Youth Justice Committees in partnership with the Department of Child, Youth and Family Services, Crown Attorneys and Police.

Further information can be found by contacting the provincial manager of the Youth Corrections Program at 709-729-2794.
