Project Description:
The proponent is proposing upgrades to the existing marine vessel repair and maintenance facility located at St. John’s Harbour. Project activities would include the demolition of existing piers and replacement with a steel-pile reinforced concrete deck, dredging in St. John’s Harbour, and the construction of a new, larger capacity marine lift and additional berths. The existing smaller marine lift and berthing area will remain in place to complement the larger marine lift and berthing area.
- March 5, 2026 – The undertaking was registered.
- April 10, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
- April 19, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
- April 28, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is extended.
- April 29, 2026 – The Minister determined that an Environmental Preview Report (EPR) is required and an Environmental Assessment Committee (EAC) has been Appointed.
