Project Description:

The proponent is proposing significant upgrades to Goodyear’s Dam, located approximately four kilometres upstream of the Grand Falls Generating Station to address safety risks associated with the dam’s deterioration. Work would include buttressing both the north and south sections of the dam, constructing a new fishway on the south side of the dam to maintain Atlantic Salmon passage, infilling and abandonment of the deteriorated existing fishway on the north side of the dam, and creating laydown areas to support construction and maintenance of the dam.

• May 7, 2026 – Deadline for public comments.
• May 17, 2026 – The Minister’s decision is due.
