Special Patient Preparation

Avoid high biotin doses (>5 mg/day) for 8 hours prior to testing. Testing cannot be performed on samples from patients undergoing sodium heparin treatment.

Centrifuge and aliquot serum to a transport tube and freeze aliquot within 24 hours.
