Description and Primary Use
Useful as a screening test for complement abnormalities in the alternative pathway. Abnormal test results can be due to hereditary absence or acquired functional defect in the activity of any of the individual components of the alternative pathway including the alternate pathway factors (D, B, P, H, and I) or late complement components (C3, C5-C9).

Specimen for this test must be collected, processed, aliquoted and frozen within 45 – 60 minutes of collection. Centrifuge and aliquot serum to a transport tube.
