Description and Primary Use
May be helpful in determining the etiology of decreased CSF glucose levels in patients with signs and symptoms of meningitis,. Significanty increased CSF lactate levels suggest bacterial meningitis while normal or slighty elevated levels are more likely to be due to viral meningitis.
