Description and Primary Use
This is not ordered individually but as part of a maternal serum screen. Inhibin A is made by the placenta during pregnancy. It is used to determine if the baby may have Down Syndrome and is generally measured between 15 and 20 weeks as part of a quadruple screening test.

Maternal serum samples should be collected between 15-20 weeks of gestation
