Special Collection / Transport / Processing Requirements

A full 3.2 % Sodium Citrate tube mixed thoroughly and delivered to the lab with 24 hours of collection. Samples should be transported non-refrigerated at 15-22 deg C. If testing is not completed within 24 hrs, platelet-poor plasma should be removed and frozen at -20 deg C or below for up to 2 weeks or -70 deg C or below for up to 6 months.

Criteria for Rejection

Incorrect collection tube, underfilled collection tube, hemolyzed/clotted sample, sample >24 hours old.
