You have 10 days to let Motor Registration Division know that you have changed your name.
Change of Name – Photo ID
If you need to change your name on your Photo ID your record needs to be updated in-person at a Motor Registration Division office. Please book an appointment. Proof of name change is required and documents must be original.
Accepted documents:
- Government issued Marriage Certificate
- Official name change document
- Birth Certificate
- Official Court document
Once your name is changed in the Motor Registration Division system, a new driver’s licence/photo ID card and vehicle registration (if applicable) will be mailed to you. This should take about 10 business days.
