Information Management (IM) Education and Awareness Training

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) delivers IM courses and information sessions to all individuals of all departments and public bodies. In addition, OCIO works with the Centre for Learning and Development (CLD) to deliver training both in class and online via the PSAccess Learning Management System (LMS). PSAccess courses are open to all individuals with access to the public service network (PSNL). Individuals must register with the CLD to obtain a PSAccess account.

Cyber Security Awareness

Training for IM Professionals:

IM Professionals are individuals whose roles are focused on IM program support. IM Position Descriptions have been standardized to support the growth of the profession across government. IM professionals must establish and maintain technical competencies in the practice of IM. The IM Technical Competency Framework defines the skills required for each position level. Learning and development resources to support each competency are available on the OCIO website. The OCIO offers many courses to public sector IM professionals at no cost to the participant.

Developing an IM Program Plan
An IM Program Plan is a formal approved and published document that outlines how IM services are delivered in your organization. These include governance, organization, management, performance management and reporting. This session is designed to assist departments and other public bodies to develop an appropriate IM Program Plan.

Information Protection for IM Professionals
Information Protection (IP) is an area of practice focused on the protection of information from inappropriate access or use, using a variety of means as required, including, but not limited to, policy and standards and physical and electronic security measures. This session includes IP Principles, legislation and cyber security.
