Arctic Policy Working Group

The Labrador Affairs Secretariat chairs the Arctic Policy Working Group for the Province. The mandate of the Arctic Policy Working Group is to facilitate the coordination and collaboration between Provincial Government departments and entities on the social and economic development activities of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador related to the Arctic and Canada’s North.

The role of the Arctic Policy Working Group is to:

  1. Facilitate open and proactive dialogue and the sharing of information to help identify and understand common areas of interest that strengthen relationships, build partnerships, and promote social and economic growth in the Arctic and Canada’s North;
  2. Provide a coordinated approach to assist Government in making informed decisions as it relates to the Arctic and Canada’s North; and,
  3. Effectively plan and disseminate information within Government as it relates to issues in the Arctic and Canada’s North.
