Combined Councils of Labrador

The Combined Councils of Labrador (CCL) was formed in 1972 when the communities of Nain, Makkovik, Davis Inlet and Hopedale met for a conference to address issues that were similar in each community. In 1979, the CCL expanded to include all communities in Labrador. The mandate of the CCL is to advocate on behalf of its membership for social and economic development in Labrador. In the course of advocacy efforts, the CCL coordinates an annual conference and annual general meeting in Labrador to address concerns in the region. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, through the Labrador Affairs Secretariat, provides $100,000 annually for operational funding.
