This test includes:
- Pre-trip inspection as per the commercial road test (excluding uncoupling and coupling of the trailer);
- Backing test;
- In-cab checks; and
- Road test in traffic (with the trailer in tow)
If you’re successful, the weight restriction on your class 5 licence will be adjusted. You will not be allowed to tow a trailer with a greater weight limit than the trailer used during the road test. The trailer weight must not exceed the towing limit of the towing vehicle.
