Off-road vehicles such as ATVs, side-by-sides (UTVs), dirt bikes, snowmobiles etc. must be registered. The fee is paid one-time for as long as you own the vehicle.

What do I bring to my appointment?
- A vehicle registration application
- New Vehicle Information Statement NVIS (issued by the manufacturer for new vehicles)
- The bill of sale (for a used vehicle this is on the back of the vehicle registration form; its completed by the seller) or use our convenient Bill of Sale template
- If the seller is an HST/GST registrant, include the HST/GST registrant’s number and amount of HST/GST collected by registrant.
- Signature(s) of the previous owner(s) required
What if the Bill of Sale is from an individual who is not the registered owner, or the history of owners cannot be traced?
- If the vehicle has not been reported stolen, the Registrar can approve the registration of the vehicle. You will require:
- A sworn affidavit signed by the purchaser
- An Indemnity Form signed by purchaser
Cost of Registration
- Registration fees for all vehicles are outlined in the Fees Policy (discounts may apply)
- Provincial sales tax is charged on the purchase price of the vehicle
- All outstanding fines appearing on your record must be paid
