Respect Aging Training Program

The Respect Aging program was designed to educate and train various audiences in the recognition, prevention and intervention of violence against older persons. The vision of this project is that all older persons in this province should live free from fear, exploitation and violence in safe and supportive communities.

Violence is rooted in inequality and can take many forms. All forms of violence are unacceptable, and have damaging, long-term impacts on those who experience them. The Respect Aging opens in new window website contains helpful information for older persons who may experience violence, and for community and health care workers, and the general public.

Links to training materials are provided for the Respect Aging program. These materials are meant to provide information, resources and tools for anyone who interacts with older persons affected by or likely to experience violence.

If you have any questions or comments, or would like to participate in a Respect Aging training session, please contact the Violence Prevention Newfoundland and Labrador Organization nearest you or the Violence Prevention Initiative.
