Council of Ministers of Education, Canada – July 7-9, 2014

Education Minister Darin King joined provincial and territorial colleagues for a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC) in Charlottetown, P.E.I. July 7-9, 2014. Discussions focused on strategies to improve student achievement, address Aboriginal education issues, support teaching excellence, and more. Ministers toured the renowned Culinary Institute of Canada at Holland College, met with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada to discuss the ongoing impact of Indian Residential Schools, and released plans for the 5th International Summit on the Teaching Profession, to be hosted by Canada in 2015.
