Little Green Thumbs Harvest – Lester’s Farm Chalet – June 16, 2014

Education Minister Darin King joined Grade 3 Beachy Cove Elementary students and teachers at Lester’s Farm Chalet to mark the school’s Little Green Thumbs harvest celebration on Monday, June 16. Little Green Thumbs is part of the Agriculture in the Classroom initiative, delivered through the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Agriculture. Students are encouraged to plant and grow their own classroom gardens, providing an opportunity to learn about food systems, the importance of sustainability, and protecting the environment.
