Program or Block Transfer, 2007-2008

For the most part, credit transfer involving public post-secondary institutions in this province occurs on a course-by-course basis. There are, however, program or block transfer arrangements also available to students (see following tables). For more information consult the appropriate institutional calendar or Registrar/Student Service Offices.

Graduates from MUN holding an appropriate Bachelor of Science Degree. May be considered for advanced standing to the 2nd year of the Medical Laboratory program at the College of the North Atlantic. Limited spaces are available due to severe space restrictions.
A total of six (6) years of training and work experience in an occupational area. A maximum of 30 credit hours towards the Diploma/Degree of Bachelor of Education (Post Secondary) at Memorial University.
3-year Engineering Technology Diploma program in Naval Architecture or Marine System Design completed at the Fisheries & Marine Institute with an overall average of at least 75%. May be admitted to a Bridging Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University and if successful will be promoted to academic Term 4 of the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering Degree Program.
Completion of a Diploma in either Nautical Science or Marine Engineering Technology at the Fisheries and Marine Institute. Entry into a 39 credit hour Bachelor of Maritime Studies (BMS) Degree Program at Memorial University.
3-year Environmental Technology Diploma completed at the College of the North Atlantic (Corner Brook campus). 45 unspecified credit hours and entry into year 2 of the Environmental Science, Bachelor of Science Degree program offered at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College.
Completion of the two-year Diploma in Community Recreation Leadership Program from the College of the North Atlantic. May be admitted with advanced standing to the Bachelor of Recreation (Co-op) Degree Program at Memorial University.
Graduates of a three-year accredited diploma from the Fisheries & Marine Institute or the College of the North Atlantic in Health Sciences or Engineering Technology or a similar diploma taken from a recognized university/college and acceptable to the Admissions Committee. Signed articulation agreements are in place with the following institutions: Nova Scotia Community College, New Brunswick Community College (Bathurst, Moncton, St. John), Holland College (PEI), RCC College (ON), Cambrian College (ON), Red River College (MB) and Camosun College (BC). Entry into a 39 credit hour Bachelor of Technology Degree Program at Memorial University.
Graduates of a three-year Business Management diploma program from the College of the North Atlantic. May be considered for admission to Term 3 of the Bachelor of Commerce (Cooperative) Program at Memorial University
May be considered for admission directly into the Bachelor of Business Administration or the Bachelor of Commerce (non-Cooperative) Program. If admitted, they will be required to complete a minimum of forty-five credit hours beyond those used towards their College Diploma.
2-year Adventure Tourism Diploma Program completed at the College of the North Atlantic (or who are in their final semester of the program). Students who are entering the Environmental Studies Program at Sir Wilfred Grenfell College will be given a total of 60 credit hours towards the 120 credit-hour degree program.
Civil Engineering Technology Diploma Program from College of the North Atlantic with an overall average of at least 75%. May be admitted to a Bridging Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University and if successful will be promoted to academic Term 4 of the Civil Engineering Degree Program.
Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma Program or Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma Program from College of the North Atlantic with an overall average of at least 75%. May be admitted to a Bridging Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University and if successful will be promoted to academic Term 4 of the Electrical or Computer Engineering Degree Program.
3-year Business Management diploma completed at College of the North Atlantic. Qualified graduates may be admitted* to the Bachelor of Business Administration program at Memorial University. Admission will be on the basis of block transfer with course requirements for completion of the BBA specified for each of the College business diploma programs. Diploma program graduates will be required to complete a minimum of 45 credit hours beyond those used for their college diploma.
* Admission is limited and competitive and is based on overall academic performance.
Mechanical Engineering Technology (Power) Diploma Program or Mechanical Engineering Technology (HVAC) Diploma Program from College of the North Atlantic with an overall average of at least 75%. May be admitted to a Bridging Program offered by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Memorial University and if successful will be promoted to academic Term 4 of the Mechanical Engineering Degree Program.

Diploma of Applied Arts – Community Studies completed at the College of the North Atlantic. 1 year of 3-year Bachelor of Arts – Community Studies at the University College of Cape Breton.
Diploma of Applied Arts – Visual Arts completed at the College of the North Atlantic. Up to 2 years of 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
2-year Adventure Tourism Program completed at the College of the North Atlantic with an overall average of 80% and two letters of recommendation. Eligible for admission of this second year of the four-year Outdoor Adventure Leadership program in the Bachelor of Physical and Health Education Degree at Laurentian University.
Completion of College of the North Atlantic Occupational Therapist Assistant Program with an overall 80% average. May be awarded for purposes of application to the Bachelor of Science (O.T.) Program at Dalhousie University, the transfer equivalence of 3.0 credits.

3-year Engineering Technology Program completed at the College of the North Atlantic. Advanced standing toward a Bachelor of Technology Degree at the University College of Cape Breton in related areas of Computer Systems; Petroleum; Manufacturing; Environmental Studies; Emergency Management. Programs can be completed in 12 months or less. Some courses can be completed by distance.

3-year Architectural Engineering Technology diploma completed at the College of the North Atlantic (CNA) Transfer their CNA academic credits to a 2-year program at Indiana University – Purdue University at Indianapolis (IUPUI). Upon successful completion of the 2-year program, students will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Management Technology and a Master of Science degree in Technology. Both degrees are conferred by Purdue University, USA.
2-year Business Administration-Accounting diploma at College of the North Atlantic, with an overall program average of 3.0 or greater Block Transfer of 2 years of the 4-year Bachelor of Applied Management – Accounting (BAMAC) at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John.
In addition to the regular program requirements for the BAMAC, these students, prior to graduation, will be expected to complete Economics 1023 – Macroeconomics, BA 3425 – Managerial Finance or their equivalents.
In addition, due to exemptions, graduates would not be eligible to study for credit BA 4237 – Income Taxation, Math 2903 – Financial Mathematics, or BA 2001 – Business Communications.
2-year Computer Support Specialist diploma completed at College of the North Atlantic. 39 credits towards a Bachelor of Science – Computing and Information Systems (Post Diploma) degree at Athabasca University.
3-year Engineering Technology Program completed at the College of the North Atlantic. May be admitted to a summer Bridging Program at Lakehead University and if successful will be promoted to year 3 of a related Engineering Degree program in Chemical; Civil; Electrical; or Mechanical Engineering.
Any 2-year diploma program at College of the North Atlantic, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater. Block transfer of two years of the 4-year Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) at the University of New Brunswick, Saint John.

Specific course requirements will be determined on an individual basis at the time of admission.
