The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador

The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is the highest honour of the province. The object of the Order is to recognize individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour benefiting in an outstanding manner Newfoundland and Labrador and its residents. The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is established by the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador Act. The Volunteer War Service Medal

The Volunteer War Medal recognizes persons who volunteered and served in units or organizations raised or maintained as the contribution of the Dominion of Newfoundland to the allied war effort, namely, the British Imperial Forces, the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit, the merchant navy and the Newfoundland Regiment. The Award is established via the Volunteer War Service Medal Act. Details respecting the application process and forms are as follows:

Public Service Award of Excellence

The Public Service Award of Excellence recognizes individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions to the public service. It is the highest honour an employee can receive from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. Details respecting the Award, nomination process and forms can be found at the Public Service Award of Excellence website.

The Newfoundland and Labrador Award for Bravery

The Newfoundland and Labrador Award for Bravery was established by the Bravery Award Act for the purpose of recognizing citizens of the province whose life and safety have been risked while rendering assistance to another person. Any resident of Newfoundland and Labrador is eligible to be nominated for the Award. Incidents for which persons have been nominated, as examples, including assisting a person in danger of drowning or perishing in a fire. The nomination form is as follows:
