Public Consultation on Proposed Amendment No. 4, 2022 to Trinity South Highway Protected Road Zoning Plan (Blaketown)

The Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs is considering amending the Trinity South Protected Road Zoning Plan to add zoning to the access road constructed during the reconfiguration of the Trans-Canada Highway. This access road now forms part of the Trinity South Highway (Route 80).

In accordance with section 14 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act, public consultation is required when amending a provincial protected road zoning plan to solicit input from interested persons, community groups and other stakeholders.

The purpose of the amendment is to apply zoning on both sides of Route 80 on the access road to the Trans-Canada Highway. The original route of the Trinity South Highway, now known as River Road, will be zoned “Mixed”. The propose amendment zones land on both sides of the access road from River Road to Old Track Road “Mixed”. The remainder of the access road between Old Track Road and the Trans-Canada Highway interchange will be zoned “Rural Conservation”.
