The Local Governance and Land Use Planning Division of the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs registers all the municipal plans and development regulations in legal effect under the Urban and Rural Planning Act, 2000 . The official documents are kept at council offices and in the registry at the Department. Amendments to municipal plans and development regulations are also registered by the Division.

Always check the list of amendments to be sure that you are aware of the most up to date information.

The original documents on file with the Department and Councils remain the legal versions.
