Safe and Inclusive Schools Graduating Student Leadership Grant
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Education recognizes outstanding student leaders who help create safe, caring, and inclusive school communities across Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Safe and Inclusive Schools Graduating Student Leadership Grant awards $750 to students completing their final year of high school who have made a meaningful impact through leadership, advocacy, and positive action within their school.
Purpose of the Grant
This grant aims to:
- Celebrate student leadership and initiative
- Recognize the positive impact students have on others
- Support student voice in shaping safe, inclusive school environments
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be completing their final year of high school from a Newfoundland and Labrador public school
- Demonstrate leadership in promoting a safe and inclusive school environment
This leadership may be shown through:
- Participation in initiatives that promote inclusion, respect, equity, and belonging
- Involvement in peer leadership, student advocacy, or school-wide activities
- Efforts to support others and build positive relationships
- Contributions to creating a safe, welcoming school community
How to Apply
Students must:
- Submit the Student Application Form
- Submit two references, including at least one from a school staff member
