Provincial Court Judges’ Pension Plan – PCJPP

The Provincial Court Judges’ Pension Plan (PCJPP) was introduced April 1, 2002. Prior to this, provincial court judges were members of the Public Service Pension Plan. The PCJPP is one of three Defined Benefit Pension Plans administered by Government. Under Defined Benefit Plans, pensions are calculated based on a percentage of members years of pensionable service and pensionable earnings.

Overall administration of the PCJPP is the responsibility of the Pensions and Debt Management Division, in cooperation with the Department of Justice. The primary objective of the PCJPP is to help plan members prepare for a comfortable retirement.
