The Eastern Habitat Joint Venture (ENJV) incorporates habitat conservation efforts by engaged partners in each of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador. Provincial partners include the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture, the Stewardship Association of Municipalities Inc., Environment Canada, the Nature Conservancy of Canada and Ducks Unlimited Canada. The EHJV has been moving towards an all-bird habitat conservation approach in recent years and this planning continues to evolve. As its primary contribution to the EHJV, the Province focuses on conserving and enhancing existing wildlife habitat via conservation agreements with municipalities, corporations or private landowners.
