The Animal Health Division is responsible for a number of disease surveillance activities including, but not limited to:

- Hantavirus (233 KB)
- Infectious laryngotracheitis (poultry) (187 KB)
- Rabies
- Ticks and Lyme Disease
- West Nile virus (313 KB)
- Avian Trichomoniasis
In certain cases graduate students from Memorial University or elsewhere are supported to permit more in-depth study of specific diseases.

Anyone shipping potentially infectious samples must be aware of the Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulation. As employees of this division have such training, samples can be dropped off at our regional offices
