Corporate and Strategic Services Branch

The Corporate and Strategic Services Branch has three divisions within the department.

Strategic and Support Services Division

The Strategic and Support Services Division is responsible for policy and planning support, development and implementation at the department level. The division is responsible for the coordination and lead on several government level initiatives requiring departmental coordination/input.  Additionally, the division includes the Information Management Division responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of Information Management (IM) and Information Protection (IP) policies and procedures throughout. The IM Division is accountable for designing and managing the electronic content management system and providing advice on regulatory compliance requirements for the collection, use, and disclosure of information.

Finance and General Operations Division

The Finance and General Operations Division is responsible for managing and controlling the financial and general operations functions of Industry, Energy and Technology to ensure fiscal stewardship. The Division provides financial expertise, oversight, and strategic advice to the Deputy Minister, Executive, and Program Directors on financial management and general operations functions in order to facilitate the delivery of programs and services and to enable the Department to achieve its strategic and operational objectives.

Marketing and Promotions Division

Responsible for advancing strategic investment attraction and promotions for Newfoundland and Labrador’s extensive portfolio of petroleum, mineral, hydro and other natural resources. Provides support and direction to enhance innovation and growth within the supply and service, ocean technologies, as well as other emerging sectors within the province.
